103,982 and counting…..

On Monday (1st Feb) a female suicide bomber killed ‘at least 40/50/54 people’ at a pilgrims’ rest station in Iraq. Nothing unusual there, you might think, and you’d be right. The point is that I had all the Tuesday broadsheets to prepare for the debate, so I went looking for this particular item. Where did I find it? Page 12 of the Telegraph, page 22 of the Indie, page 29 of the Times, and nowhere at all in the Guardian (though they presumably squeezed it in on Weds). Carnage in Iraq is not newsworthy, it would seem. And that, my friends, is called adding insult to injury….

How cold is my valley?

Who I am

This blog started during the months before the 2010 General Election, in which I was the Green candidate for Calder Valley. It's morphed into an account of green activism...and other meanderings.
